Does the Divine Hunger for Our Love?

I often wonder about the nature of the Divine. Of all the symbolic meaning I can attribute to God, the one that feels most on point for me is that of parent. That symbolic connection opens up so many thoughts and questions that resonate with the God of my understanding.

Indulge me to rant a bit about being a parent and then I will connect some of that which might be spiritually meaningful. I adore my two daughters. I adopted each one at the age of four weeks, weighing six pounds from Peru, two years apart. Although I was not always a fan of babies, I knew there was a connection I was meant to experience, and I listened to that still small voice even though I was single, and almost in my forties. Since the moment I became their parent, I have loved our lives together. Now that they are both adults, they often show me and tell me that they love me, too. It is an incredible experience to hear words and see evidence of their love, acceptance, and gratitude for our lives together.

Do you think God loves to hear from us as the children of the Divine? To hear words of love? To see evidence of our acceptance and gratitude for our lives together? Do you feel that you are living your life together with the Divine?
