The Gift of Wisdom

IMG_0454.JPEG

You can be smart as a whip, sly as a fox, dull as a rock, have common sense or be foolish. Somehow you can make it through life with any combination of these attributes.

Yet the most prized quality is Wisdom. In the Bible, when God offered king Solomon anything he desired, he chose to receive the gift of Wisdom. For many cultures, the most treasured of the members is often the wise sage. The Greeks experienced the central concept of their Hellenic philosophy and religion as Sophia, representing Wisdom.

If Wisdom is a divine gift, how do we receive it ? All those regrets, mistakes, roads not taken, and heart aches that make us wonder about the “why“ in our lives, are also learning steps on our path to gaining Wisdom.

Can you consider the growth and strength that can be the outcome of struggle? Can you open yourself to connect with a Divine presence that wants to give you Wisdom to help guide you on your journey?
