The Value of Showing Up - the Divine Does this Right!

I hosted a very important party this past weekend. It was important because the purpose was to celebrate a real journey my daughter struggled through for many years to achieve an outstanding outcome. The people who came were priceless. Their presence meant the world to all of us. Many came from a long way away, but they came, they were there. It was the best thing about the party -- not the food and beverage or decorations, or music, or video tapes playing. It was the people who were there. My family talked for hours afterward about how good it was to see each person, talk to each person, and how wonderful it was to have them gathered in one place.

It got me thinking about God showing up for us. All the time. Always being there. How meaningful it is to know that the Spirit which passes through all things is never a no show. Never makes other plans. Never forgets it is on the calendar. Never thinks it isn't so important. How would you like to have a friend like that? You do, I do. I have to keep remembering that it isn't God who skips the party, it's me. What would it take for you to show up when you can be sure that the Divine is always there?
