Everyday Gifts from God

When you are out and about, do you ever see something that someone you love would love? It could be an item in a special color, a food that will be a treat for that person, a shirt with a meaningful saying. You think, "that person would really love this, and I'd love to bring back a surprise just because that special person is so important to me. It would make me happy to give that kind of happiness."

I believe the Divine thinks about us that way. How really nice it is to have a favorite activity, food, or place; a joyful hobby, interest, or pursuit. I have many favorite things in my life that  keep my spirits up, make me happy, and comfort me. Could the Divine be making it possible for us to have those gifts so we experience happiness on Earth? The emotion of being so thrilled and feeling so good might just be God's way of reminding you of the Holy Presence. 

You may treasure a kind gift from a friend who thought of you and was so loving and generous. Perhaps our happiness enjoying our favorite things is a sacred connection with the Giver.
