Original Blessing— The Starter for Your Spiritual Path

Do you remember having a teacher in school who started the first day of class by telling all the students they already had a starting grade of "F"--failing -- and for the rest of the semester they had to dig themselves out of that hole to earn a passing, above average, or superior grade? Or maybe you had a teacher who started you at a "C" -- average, and expected you to work up to a higher grade.

Do you think God starts us off with this major debt that we continually have to pay off to make it to the goal?

I wonder if I had thought that of my precious newborn daughters when I first held them. What if I had said to them, “You are a pretty rotten person, but maybe if you try hard enough you might overcome that somewhat”?

Well, I didn't think of them that way.

I thought they were perfect and I loved them completely. I already saw how they would have the potential that was unlimited, and I would do everything I could to support them reaching for the stars!

If each of us is a beloved child of God, would we not be held in a state of original blessing? Would we not be born as precious? Without fault? Full of positive potential? 

I wonder, and I invite you to wonder, if you accepted the concept of Original Blessing, what kind of beliefs and practices would grow from that foundation?
